Downtown Middleborough Memorial Day Parade

Monday, May 29, 2017 - 10:00am to 11:30am
The parade will step off at 10am on Memorial Day, Monday May 29 and vehicles will be veterans that are not able to walk the parade route. Those veterans that want to march in the parade, please join the other veterans that will form up at the start of the parade. The Memorial Day ceremonies will immediately follow the parade at the Middleborough Veterans' Memorial Park featuring singing by the ladies of the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts and music by the award winning Middleborough High School Band along with presentations to the Honorary Grand Marshals and their family members.
Four honorary Grand Marshals will represent the 414 Middleborough WWI veterans that fought in the war to end all wars in this year’s Memorial Day services.

This year’s Marshals are Medal of Honor recipient Patrick Regan, Simeon L. Nickerson (for whom the Legion is named), John F. Glass (for whom the VFW is named), and Fletcher Clark, who was the town moderator for over 40 years and also the grand marshal for Memorial Days in the past.

If you’re related to any of these veterans or know of someone that is, please get in touch with Bob Lessard at 508 947 0299. Bob is the local military historian and will be putting together biographical sketches on them for the Memorial Day ceremony.
