Tuesday, May 23 is designated in Massachusetts as Deborah Sampson Day. In honor of that day, the Middleborough Historical Association will be presenting "A Revolution of Her Own: Deborah Sampson Gannett" by Judith Kalaora of History At Play. Join us to hear the captivating story of the first woman to fight in the American Military. In 1782, Deborah bound her chest, tied back her hair, and enlisted in the Continental Army.
The event will be held Tuesday, May 23 at 6:30 pm at the Middleborough Historical Museum located at 18 Jackson Street, Middleborough. (Right behind the Police Station) This event is free and open to the public. It is funded in part by the Middleborough Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
